Black Space Technology

Black Space Technology is a Birmingham-based medical software company specialising in scalable, future-proof telemedicine solutions for pre-hospital emergency care in challenging and remote environments. Its systems are software-focused, hardware-agnostic, and configurable to local service needs, including language localisation. The flagship telemedicine solution, Rapid-EPR, is an electronic patient record platform with point-of-injury wireless vital sign monitoring. The solutions are used by military, NGOs, intergovernmental and civilian organisations operating across land, sea and air. The company works closely with the UK Ministry of Defence, NATO Special Operations Forces, and United Nations to ensure operational fit and frontline relevance. Solutions have been tested across a wide range of environments, from UN peacekeeping missions in South Sudan to operations at high altitude and in low temperatures, including support to the first mixed-gender team of British Army Reservists to summit Mount Everest. Other products the  Rapid-MCI mass casualty incident management solution enabling interagency data visibility, and the Rapid-ACE autonomous casualty evacuation system which uses heavy-lift UAV drones. All products have full medical accreditation, and the technology has received national recognition, including awards from the British Computer Society and UK Government’s Department for Business and Trade.
