TapSOS is the Government accredited app platform to allow the public to make non-verbal communication via 999 to Police, Ambulance, Fire & Rescue and Coastguard Emergency Services.
Becca Hume, our company founder, built the original concept while completing her Masters in Multi Disciplinary Product Design.
When she was 16 and working part-time in Marks & Spencer, she met a colleague who was deaf which inspired her to learn British Sign Language (BSL). Becca discovered how both products and services can be limited for the Deaf community, in particular, connecting with 999.
Becca decided to design and build a much more inclusive product to enable not only Deaf, but anyone in a vulnerable situation where using vocal communication is not possible.
