Border and Maritime SecurityImmigration Enforcement was set up on 1 April 2012. It is responsible for preventing abuse, tracking immigration offenders and increasing compliance with immigration law.
It works with partners such as the police to regulate migration in line with government policy, while supporting economic growth.
