BlastSax are an innovative sandless sandbag designed for armed forces and specialist police units worldwide.
They are packed heat-sealed for space-saving storage and rapid deployment so can be taken to the scene very quickly. Once immersed in water, the gelling polymer inside absorbs up to 20 litres and retains it to transform the BlastSax into an instant alternative sandbag.
BlastSax have undergone tough and demanding tests to prove they are effective at mitigating damage to people and property caused by IEDs and other explosive devices.
One person can carry 28 BlastSax in their dry state and they can be used with aqueous decontaminants to neutralise chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats.
They are ideal for conventional demolition, minefield clearance, combat engineering, personnel protection when preparing detonators, IED applications, pipe bombs, CBRN tasks, blast protection in sensitive locations where collateral damage is unacceptable and to prevent flooding.
In short, BlastSax have become essential equipment in the battle against international terrorism and for any other military and police tasks where sandbags are needed.
