Horizon Europe (HE)is the largest Research and Innovation funding programme in the world, with a total budget of €95 billion. With the UK’s formal association from 1stJanuary 2024, UK participants can apply for funding from the EU Commission and form and lead consortia with international partners on equivalent terms to EU-based participants. Horizon Europe is an opportunity for a wide range of UK organisations, (including industry, academia, research organisations, local government, and practitioner end-users) to transform ambitious ideas into tangible outcomes and gain access to a wider network of expertise and innovative solutions.
There will be interactive sessions at the S&P Innovation Zone on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th March which will feature presentations from project partners showcasing a variety of Horizon Europe funded projects. These sessions will highlight the advantages of participating in Horizon funded initiatives. Attendees will have the chance to engage, network and interact with UK and international experts who can provide guidance on the participation process. Several Horizon Europe projects will be represented, offering insights into potential collaboration opportunities and access to research and development funding.
The HE Civil Security for Society Work Programme 2025 (WP2025) will be published in spring this year and will have €231 million funding to respond to the challenges arising from persistent and ever-increasing security threats. The 6 main overarching themes within the Civil Security for Society WP2025 are fighting crime and terrorism, the management and protection of borders, disaster resilience, protecting critical infrastructures, increasing cybersecurity, and strengthening security research and innovation.
