The Future Borders & Immigration System is at the heart of improvements to the UK’s legal migration system, underpinning the UK Government’s ambition to create a world leading border and migration system.

We will transform the UK Border, making visible changes to security, flow, and passenger experience across all modes of transport, at all ports.

Through Permission to Travel, we will know more about those who intend to come to the UK. Increasing use of automation will improve flow management.

We will take advantage of increased intelligence and risk-based targeting to identify those who require positive interventions at the border.

Summary of service :

• The Future Border and immigration System (FBIS) programme, aims to introduce an end-to-end digital journey for all UK  arrivals. FBIS  is trialling facial comparison technologies for passengers in  a vehicle in an operational setting to prove the concept that in-vehicle  facial comparison is possible.
