Counter-Drones: Home Office and National Police Chiefs’ Council

The Home Office Counter-Drones Unit (CDU) leads on drone security, strategy and policy coordination across government. The CDU brings together partners from government departments, the scientific community and first responders to consider the full spectrum of drone threats, including future requirements and current operational response planning.

The National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) Counter Drones Unit ensures the safe and responsible use of the UK airspace by drones, working in partnership with the Home Office Counter-Drones Unit. The NPCC team remit covers the malicious and criminal use of drones across all policing disciplines; counter terrorism, serious and organised crime, public order and frontline policing.
