Forensic Information Databases Service (FINDS)

The Forensic Inofrmation Databases Service provide administration of multiple national Forensic Information Databases and ultimately ensuring the integrity of records held.

Databases we administer are:

– DNA

– Fingerprints 

– Digital Images

– Footwear

– The Police National Computer

We provide Metropolitan Police Service with DNA profiles from unsolved crime stains, unidentified body/part(s) and convicted subjects. This will allow for the DNA profiles to be automatically populated to the MPS CODIS system which will facilitate the international searches.

We provide the MPS with access to ad-hoc containers within the IDENT1 Special Collections capability to manage the UK outbound TCA fingerprint searches.

We also provide DNA & Fingerprint Proficiency Trial Services to FSPs
