Police and Public Protection Technology Portfolio (PPPT) are part of Home Office Digital within the Home Office. The main focus of work revolves around creating digital ways of working for the Police and other entities that deal with public protection.
PPPT has a remit across policing and law enforcement nationally and serves a diverse range of stakeholders including all 43 England and Wales forces, Police Scotland, Police Service of Northern Ireland and other national forces (British Transport Police, Civil Nuclear Constabulary, Ministry of Defence Police), UK Law Enforcement Agencies and Arm’s Length Bodies. We also support around 20 additional law enforcement agencies such as border force, National Crime Agency and HM Revenue & Customs.
More specifically PPPT is a technology delivery organisation primarily responsible for the design, build and deployment of large-scale transformation delivery programmes (Law Enforcement Data Portfolio, Home Office Biometrics) which leverage modern digital technologies and will provide world-class law enforcement capabilities. PPPT is also responsible for live service sustainment for data services including the Police National Computer and the Police National Database. PPPT is also delivering critical infrastructure transformation (Law Enforcement Community Network and Law Enforcement Cloud Platform).
