The programme has been formally recognised as professional development where you can claim accredited CPD points with our partners The Security Institute for attending.

The opening morning in the Fusion Forum will see the Grand Final of the ADS Security Innovation Award, which recognises the innovative capabilities and services developed by UK security companies that have caused a step change in the effectiveness of the UK’s ability to prevent, respond to, reduce the impact of or investigate risks and incidents.

Shortlisted finalists will be pitching their submissions live to a panel of judges including Angela Essel, Head of the Joint Security and Resilience Centre, Home Office; Anita Friend, Head of Defence and Security Accelerator, Ministry of Defence; Professor Andrew Shortland, Chair Academic RISC; and Chair, Michael Clayforth-Carr, ADS Vice-President – Security and Resilience Sector.

The Fusion Forum will also host an industry challenge each day, where participating exhibitors will pitch their solutions to panels of senior experts from Government, industry and academia. This year’s challenges will focus on border security and the challenges and threats over the next 5-15 years; future policing and the new technologies and their implementation that will improve public trust and confidence in policing; and protecting publicly accessible locations and how micro/SMEs with limited budgets can protect themselves and their staff.

The central feature will offer visitors the chance to participate in daily panel discussions led by senior panellists from across Government, industry and academia exploring topics including equality, diversity and inclusivity in innovation and security; science and technology and the future of security and policing capabilities and economic crime: ransomware.

The week’s speaker programme will close with Angela Essel, Head of the Joint Security and Resilience Centre, Home Office and Shaun Hipgrave, Director Protect and Prepare, CBRNE, Science and Technology – Homeland Security Group, Home Office, reflecting on the week’s events in a discussion facilitated by Jon Gray, Director – Security and Resilience, ADS.

Speaking on the launch of the programme, Jon Gray, Director – Security and Resilience Sector, ADS, said:

“Security & Policing is an unmissable and unique opportunity for our domestic and international community to come together for the annual showcase of the UK’s leading technologies and solutions to existing and emerging threats. It is a tangible demonstration of the vital contribution our sector makes to national security and prosperity.

“However, this year is even more special, being back together in person after the huge efforts to bring everyone together at our virtual event last year. Despite the success of the virtual event, I think we all agree that nothing beats the immediacy of a physical event and the chance to catch up face-to-face. In addition, this year marks the 40th anniversary of Security and Policing and we should celebrate that fact with the meeting of old and new colleagues and friends under the S&P banner.”

More speaker names and sessions in The Centre Stage will be confirmed and announced in the weeks leading to the event. If you miss a session when attending, all keynote briefings and Fusion Forum sessions will be available to watch back on-demand via the Security & Policing+ complementary online platform.

Security & Policing, the official Government global security event, returns as a live event for its 40th anniversary between 15‐17 March 2022 at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.
