The Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT) is the UK’s national Innovation & Knowledge Centre (IKC) for cyber security research. CSIT has been a critical resource in establishing and promoting Northern Ireland as a leading UK cyber security innovation ecosystem through spinout commercialisation of world class research, the scale-up of local and regional businesses and attracting foreign direct investment. CSIT’s regional impact has ensured Northern Ireland is the number one international investment location for US cyber security development projects. CSIT’s unique model of innovation incorporates a significant engineering, professional services and public policy capability which differentiates it from other cyber security academic research centres in the UK. With support from the EPSRC and InnovateUK, CSIT is currently delivering the UK Government backed £11m Cyber-AI Hub collaborative R&D project, the UK Research Institute in Secure Hardware and Embedded Systems (RISE) supported by the NCSC and EPSRC as well as having successfully on delivered national cyber security innovation programmes, such as LORCA, HutZero and Cyber 101.
