The CYCLOPES project, launched in May 2021, is building an inovation-driven network of European practitioners (Law Enforcement Agencies LEAs) combating cybercrime. In addition to identifying capability gaps and requirements and sharing best practices, the network focuses on ongoing dialogue with industries and academia that are delivering products and conducting research on solutions that help fight cybercrime. It also aims to indicate priorities regarding domains requiring standardisation and innovation uptake, and cooperate with other networks of practitioners and relevant stakeholders fighting cybercrime. The goal is to integrate with established European networks to utilise existing communication channels and structures and not to duplicate the efforts of other projects and initiatives. The main engine of the CYCLOPES project consists of practitioners’ workshops, where gaps and requirements are identified, as well as the current capacity of authorities combating cybercrime.
